Bass

Just a quick tour through my toolkit.

Bass can be a melody instrument but it is also a percussion instrument. Playing bass should be a natural progression for accomplished drummers; producing a better all-around musician. Together- drums and bass form the foundation upon which all modern rock, pop, country, jazz and blues music is forged.

My style can be aggressive and dynamic. I love playing soft & moody as much as I love to play high energy. Stylistically- I steer away from popping & slapping, but nearly everything else is on the table. I would define my influences, categorically, as…

  • Rock- Geddy Lee & Joe Bouchard
  • Funk- Rocco Prestia & Bootsy Collins
  • Pop- Tony Levin & T-Bone Wolk
  • Fusion- Ralphe Armstrong & Chuck Rainey
  • Direct Influences- James Whiton & Jeff Eason

Stylistically Speaking

On the subject of playing bass- here are a handful of half-written songs. These are essentially quick rhythm demos (jam tracks) that are full song arrangements with no vocal or lead instruments, so you can hear the bass parts pretty clearly.
